Barbara Nazareth Oliveira
Carla de Marcelino Gomes
Rita Páscoa dos Santos
This new publication – written in Portuguese, one of the two
official languages of Timor-Leste - deals with a number of legal issues related
to the protection and judicial enforcement of fundamental rights as guaranteed
by the Timorese Constitution. It is aimed at those with a legal background –
court actors, lawyers, legal professionais and law students – to support their
access to academic level reference on
the human rights legal perspective as per relevant Timor-Leste legal framework.
The 500-page legal
reference material has been written as a result of a partnership of the
Provedoria for Human Rights and Justice of Timor-Leste and the Human Rights
Centre of the Law Faculty of the University of Coimbra, Portugal.
This is the first
legal reference academic level material specially dedicated to strenghten the
legal enforcement of the recognized human and fundamental rights in
Timor-Leste.
The Provedoria
and the Human Rights Centre have decided to provide free access to the entire
book. The book can soon be downloaded from www.pdhj.tl and www.fd.uc.pt/igc. It will also be available in Google
Books, Amazon and other publications
platform. The book can be accessed already at Scribd (https://www.scribd.com/doc/269547388/Os-Direitos-Fundamentais-em-Timor-Leste-Teoria-e-Pratica)
